Spodumene
The name comes from the Greek "spodoumenos", "reduced to ash", and referring to the gray-white mass that is formed when the mineral is ignited

Spodumene is processed as an ore of lithium, but it is most valued as a gemstone material - the Kunzite (pink) and Hiddenite (green) varieties are particularly sought after. It is usually found as a constituent of lithium-rich pegmatites. It forms crystals up to 12 meters long.
The Spodumene group is a subgroup of the Pyroxenes and consists, among others, of White Spodumene, Hiddenite, Kunzite.
