Merkaba

Merkaba Crystals are star tetrahedrons that consist of two interpenetrating three-sided pyramids. The word Merkaba comes from ancient Egypt and its meaning is derived from: MER (rotating fields of light), KA (spirit), and BA (soul). According to Jewish Encyclopedia, Merkabah is a mystical tradition of the Kabbalists pertaining to the Throne Chariot of God, which could ascend and descend through the different heavenly halls or palaces known as the Hekhaloth--with the seventh or final revealing the Glory of God. This had its roots in Merkabah mysticism, involving magical rituals, meditation, prayer and ecstatic experience. In modern esoteric teachings, it is taught that the MerKaBa is an interdimensional vehicle consisting of two equally sized, interlocked tetrahedra of light with a common center, where one tetrahedron points up and the other down. This point symmetric form is called a stella octangula or stellated octahedron which can also be obtained by extending the faces of a regular octahedron until they intersect again.
