Gypsum
Gypsum
The first known mention is about 300-325 BC by Theophrastus. From the Greek γυψοζ (plaster), which means Gypsum.

Gypsum has an Isostructure with: Ardealite, Brushite, Pharmacolite
Gypsum is the most common sulfate mineral. Can be found as solid material, including the alabaster variety; and clear crystals, the selenite variety and parallel fibrous, the satin tree variety. Typically colorless to white, transparent crystals, thick tabular to lenticular, sometimes prismatic.
The Gypsum Group consists of, among others: Anhydrite, Selenite, Desert Rose
Alabaster - A fine-grained massive form of Gypsum.
Satin Spar - A fibrous variety of Gypsum.
Selenite - Transparent-translucent colorless variety of Gypsum.
